The Parkville Rotary Club was formed on March 26, 1946 under sponsorship of the Kansas City Club. Parkville Rotary currently has SS members and meets Fridays at noon in the Woodard Conference Center in the Park University Underground. The University is also home to the Rotary Club archives and museum.
Service projects undertaken by the Parkville Rotary Club early in its history included promoting and helping to organize the Parkville Volunteer Fire Department as well as Parkville Community Center and the Drug Rehabilitation Center. Recently, the Parkville Rotary Club donated a clock to the City of Parkville.
Parkville Rotary Club has served the community since its inception to aid people of all ages, from children to senior citizens. Rotary provides assistance to victims of floods, tornadoes and hurricanes, stocks food pantries, awards scholarships, and provides funding for various community organizations and outreach projects such as funding local parks and playgrounds.
