A Wooster Rotary Parade of Flags subscription makes a great gift! This holiday, when you purchase a flag subscription, (May-November) for a neighbor, co-worker, friend or family member, you are not only honoring them - you're also supporting our community. Proceeds from the flag program are reinvested in our community through veterans' services, civic projects and college scholarships for local students. A flag subscription is a gift that keeps giving!
Click +Sign up at the top of this page, then fill out the subscriber form with the recipient’s name and address. In doing so, you will multiply the power of your gift-giving this season and your generosity will be felt by many!
Help create a community of red, white, and blue! Join others on your street to honor our country with a parade of flags in all our neighborhoods.
The Wooster Rotary Club, assisted by local community groups, will place an American flag in your front yard for seven holidays per year, and pick it up again after the holiday. A plastic pipe will be buried in your front lawn permanently, flush with the ground, to hold the flagstaff. A cap will cover the pipe when not in use. The City of Wooster has approved the flag to be placed on “tree lawns” where available. The flag and staff will remain the property of the Wooster Rotary Club.
We will close orders for the summer on July 1st as it is difficult to set new flags when the ground is hard. We will re-open the program for orders after Patriot Day (September 11), at which time you can place an order for the following year and will receive the added benefit of receiving a flag for Veterans Day (order must be placed by October 27th).
All profits will support community, national, and international Rotary projects. The local community groups that help with placing the flags will receive a payment per subscription. The remaining proceeds are used for non-profit and Veteran based projects. For $40.00 per calendar year (not pro-rated by holiday) Rotary will provide and install the pipe and cap, provide the flag, store it properly when not in use, and deliver and pick up the flag for the following holidays:
